You can cutting the edges of the surround with a scissors and overlap the cream to make it smaller as needed to fit speaker basket.

Foam surround vs Rubber surround?
environs is produced from polyether, very light due to the polyether'due south nature and micro bubbles requite it a more flexible course then it could move in the magnet easly. Rubber surround is produced from plastic (GMO). It is heavier comparing to polyether and the motion of the rubber surroundings in the magnet is limited. Hence the sound quailty differs. Most of the speaker producing visitor uses foam surround.
